About the artist:
British artist of Figurative art.
Bella Pieroni studied Fine Art at Southport and Liverpool Colleges of Art.
Focusing on painting and lithography, Bella's studies led to her obtaining a National Diploma in Design and an Art
Teaching Degree. After she spent three years teaching art to A Level in a school near Bristol after which time, she
moved to London and worked for the next ten years in design. It was then that Bella feels her real education
began, under the tutelage of Antonia Black.
By the mid 90s she had discovered the work of the enigmatic visionary painter, Cecil Collins, and actively sought
to study under a number of gifted teachers, whom he had taught.
Bella Pieroni uses a line, form and color to create the dynamic and energetic subjects of her work. Music is a
primary source of her inspiration and always used when working. This influences the outcome and drives the
energy. Working in her studio with live models and music, Pieroni is able to capture the flow and movement of her
dancing models. Employing confident yet sensitive drawing lines, Pieroni harnesses the energy of the body in
motion to depict a gesture or a feeling, revealing the essence of human expression.
To her, the viewer’s own interpretation of her work and therefore their involvement in it, is very important.
Bella has been exhibiting both nationally and internationally for over 30 years and her work is in collections
worldwide.
